Janice Leuschen is a professional writer living in Sudbury Ontario and serving clients from all parts of the world.

Janice Leuschen writes on many subjects, including mining, health care, politics, forestry, science, education, court and business.

The key to her versatility is her ability to conduct research, listen carefully, ask questions and learn quickly.

In 2005, she was the founding news director for the online news service SudburyNewsNow.com – a pilot project for Osprey Media.

Given a new technology and a blank canvas, Janice used her knowledge of the community, writing skills and imagination to develop a successful website that quickly and accurately delivered local news to the people of Sudbury.

As one of two journalists, Janice covered all areas of news gathering – municipal, provincial and federal government, health care, labour disputes, education, police and community events.

Janice has written several successful advertising-driven publications for The Sudbury Star.

In 2007, 16 Boys and Local Boys were collections of stories about young men from the community who went to war and didn’t return. Their names appear on the Memorial Wall in downtown Sudbury, yet few people knew anything about these 624 men and the lives they lived before their deaths.

In 2008, Janice researched, compiled and wrote about the history of Sudbury for the Sudbury Star’s 100th Anniversary Edition.

Also in 2008, Janice wrote a popular weekly column, One Life.  Each week a person from the community, who was inspirational to the community, a particular organization or within their family, was honoured. Janice interviewed the family, friends or colleagues of these incredible people and told their stories.

"The discipline of the writer is to learn to be still and listen to what his or her subject has to say."    - Rachel Carson
