Janice has written and published short stories for 16 years. Over the years, she has won and placed in several short-story contests.
After working primarily as a journalist for the past five years, Janice is returning to her first love -- fiction. She has several stories under consideration at Canadian literary magazines.
Her short stories are about people we all know – our next-door neighbour, our co-workers, our friends, our family. But how well do we really know them, if at all?
Janice looks into their lives, which aren’t as they appear and not as we assume they are, and tells their stories.
Janice continues to improve her craft. She participates in writing workshops on a yearly basis – most recently with Rosemary Aubert, Nino Ricci, Carol Malyon and the late Paul Quarrington.
In 2000, Janice attended the Humber School for Writers Summer Program and was mentored by Bruce Jay Friedman.
Janice has begun the research for her first novel.
